It's Wedding Guest Season: What to Wear for Summer Weddings
Summer is the perfect season for celebration, and the warm weather serves as the ideal backdrop for one of life’s most important occasions: weddings. However, it can be a challenge to find dresses appropriate for the weather, dress code, and bank account. Don’t worry–we have you covered. Find our guide to dressing for summer weddings below:
SEmi-formal
With a semi-formal dress code, lighter colors, midi-length, and less formal fabrics are appropriate. A word of warning–be sure your dress doesn’t look white in daytime lighting. Pair your dress with strappy sandals and a cute clutch for a less formal look.
FORMAL / Black Tie optional
As the dress code becomes more formal, dresses should become longer and fabrics more elevated. Textured fabrics and patterns can help to dress your look up. For a black tie optional dress code, we tend to avoid pastels, but for a summer wedding don’t be afraid to wear color!
Black tie
Black tie weddings call for the most formal of attire, even in the summer. Think floor-length gowns, materials such as silk or organza, and an overall elegant outfit. We’d recommend pairing your dress with a formal clutch, heels, and considering an up-do to elevate your look further.
