The Colors Of The Summer: Best Colors To Wear & How To Style Them
While certain pieces of clothing may not fit into your specific style or aesthetic, colours are almost always transferable. Now I know we all love seeing a pop of red in every outfit, but there are some new colours you may need to add to your outfit rotation. We’ve put together a list of our favourite colours, pieces for each, and styling tips to give you some fresh summer fashion inspo.
Butter Yellow
I have been seeing lots of light yellow accessories and outfits on my Pinterest feed and I love the bright, summery vibe it creates with every outfit. Add a pop of yellow to your outfit with a handbag, top, or even as a nail colour. Pair with deep chocolate brown for a warm classy combination, or light blue for a fun, summery pairing.
Lilac
Pastel colours are a real throwback to the 2010s but that doesn't mean they have to stay there. Adding a touch of lilac to your outfit can give you that little pop of summer colour you may be missing. It’s an easy colour to wear, as it won’t overpower anything else you’ve got on while still serving as a cute statement accessory or piece.
Chocolate Brown
The perfect staple colour to go with any outfit, brown really is the new black. It adds more dimension to pieces that would look flat in all-black and is such a warm colour going into summer. Look for basics and sets in a rich brown to nail adding this colour into your wardrobe. I’ve seen brown paired with light yellow, black, and light blue, but we love it all.
Pear Green
My love for this beautiful, vibrant colour started with some swimsuits I saw and I instantly fell in love. I think it’s such a gorgeous colour to add to your outfits and it is subtle without being bland. I’ve seen this green paired with browns, white, and cream in so many different forms from skirts to accessories.
Cobalt Blue
If you’re looking to add a statement colour to your wardrobe, cobalt blue is the best place to start. It is the easiest statement colour to wear as it looks good in so many styles and different pieces. It’s perfect for basics like an oversized T-shirt or lounge shorts, but it also looks amazing as a matching set or dress. Pair your favourite cobalt pieces with white, black or yellow for some great combinations.
