Sorority Rush Style: Outfits to Get You the Bid

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably used to Bama Rush TikToks flooding your For You Page every fall. And if you’re watching those videos and reading this blog, then you might be rushing yourself. But PNM (potential new member) or not, recruitment season is one of the biggest opportunities for girls to showcase their style. After all, it takes a detail-oriented eye to assemble outfits that balance personality with dress code. While every school differs in its recruitment process and expected attire, we’ve got you covered with the perfect looks for every step of the way—from Open House to Bid Day—so you can rush in style.

Round 1: Go Greek

As the introductory round, Go Greek (or Open House) involves meeting fellow PNMs and visiting each sorority chapter. While your meetings might be laid-back and brief, this stage is all about making a great first impression. Many schools provide a recruitment shirt for this round, so try pairing it with your favorite jeans, shorts, or a skirt for a polished yet effortless look. Wear simple accessories, and put on your most comfortable sneakers, sandals, or flats—you’ll be walking a lot!

Round 2: Philanthropy

Now that you’ve met the sororities, Philanthropy is your chance to return to a smaller number of houses and learn more about each chapter’s service values, efforts, and projects. The goal is to look casual yet presentable, so consider a flowy romper, a mini sundress, or a flirty top with pants. Soft pastels and floral patterns are perfect choices to keep your look fresh and feminine.

Round 3: Sisterhood

It’s time to kick the formality up a notch, as Sisterhood focuses on deeper connections and meaningful conversations. You’ll learn more about what makes each sorority special through recruitment videos, presentations, house tours, and bonding activities. For this round, semi-formal attire is the way to go—pair a chic blouse with tailored pants or opt for a structured dress in neutral tones or classic patterns. Complete the look with kitten heels, and you’re set!

Round 4: Preference

The Preference round is a highly emotional one. At this point, you’ve narrowed your options down to just a few sororities, and it’s your final chance to connect with them before making a decision. Since you’ll be taking part in intimate ceremonies and hearing heartfelt stories from members, elegant formalwear is key. Think wedding guest attire—luxe, silky fabrics in sleek silhouettes, with midi or maxi styles being the most appropriate.

Bid Day

Congratulations; you made it to Bid Day! After one rollercoaster of a week, it’s time to celebrate. Most sororities give pledges a shirt featuring their letters, so it’s best to stick to neutral shorts, a skirt, or even a simple dress that will complement your new apparel. Sneakers are a must, as you’ll be running to your new home as soon as you open your bid! Keep accessories light, and focus on embracing the fun and energy of the day—it’s all about making memories with your new sisters.
