Color Analysis Profile: Find the Right Color that Suits You

Color analysis is a way of discovering which colors best complement your hair, eyes, and skin tone. In color analysis, you are given an ideal color palette associated with a season; meaning spring, summer, fall, or winter. In the past few years, “finding your colors” has become a social media trend. The ARMOCROMIA filter on TikTok has been used in nearly 667K posts, and some stylists have started offering color analysis services. If you’re curious about which color palette best suits you, take our quiz here!

Now that you’ve been assigned a season, here’s how to elevate your style according to your color palette!

Spring

If you’re a Spring, you likely have similar features to Amy Adams, Kristen Bell, or Anna Camp. Spring color palettes are classified by a medium contrast between hair, eyes, and skin with warm undertones. Spring is a warm and bright season, and your recommended color palette is no different! We recommend trying gold jewelry with saturated colors, like orange, bright yellow, aqua, dark green, denim, amber, fuchsia, turquoise, or bright teal to make your features pop.

If you know you’re a Spring but aren’t completely sure it’s the right fit, you may actually fall into one of Spring’s subseasons. Our analysis focuses on the True Spring palette, which falls in between Light Spring and Bright Spring. If your skin is more neutral or olive-toned, you will likely fit best into one of these subseasons. As for Springs, if your hair, eyes, and skin have a low contrast (meaning all of your features are really light, they’re all really dark, or they’re all similar in color), you’re likely a Light Spring, and can rock a more pastel version of this color palette. If your features have a high contrast, you’re likely a Bright Spring, and can rock bolder and darker versions of this palette.

Summer

The Summer color palette is classified as having cool, muted features with medium contrast between hair, eyes, and skin tone. Like the season of summer, this color palette is calm, cool, and fresh. Your hair, skin, and eyes are likely lighter with cool undertones. To complement your features, we recommend trying silver jewelry with pastel colors or grey-toned clothing. Colors like teal, lavender, rose, dusty blue, or light grey will bring out your features.

If you know you’re a Summer but aren’t completely sure it’s the right fit, you may actually fall into one of Summer’s subseasons. Our analysis focuses on the True Summer palette, which falls in between Soft Summer and Light Summer. If your skin is more neutral or olive-toned, you will likely fit best into one of these subseasons. As for Summers, if your hair, eyes, and skin have a low contrast (meaning all of your features are really light, they’re all really dark, or they’re all similar in color), you’re likely a Soft Summer, and would rock a more pastel and muted version of this color palette. If your features have a high contrast, you’re likely a Light Summer, and can rock more vibrant versions of this palette.

Autumn

Opposite of Spring’s bright color palette, the Autumn palette is notably warm with muted tones. Like Autumn itself, your features likely have rich, golden undertones that are warm and soft. To highlight your features, we recommend pairing gold jewelry with earthy shades: like olive, caramel, warm grey, golden brown, burnt orange, copper, or plum-colored clothing.

If you know you’re an Autumn but aren’t completely sure it’s the right fit, you may actually fall into one of Autumn’s subseasons. Our analysis focuses on the True Autumn palette, which falls in between Soft Autumn and Dark Autumn. If your skin is more neutral or olive-toned, you will likely fit best into one of these subseasons. As for Autumns, if your hair, eyes, and skin have a low contrast (meaning all of your features are really light, they’re all really dark, or they’re all similar in color), you’re likely a Soft Autumn, and could rock a more soft and muted version of this color palette. If your features have a high contrast, you’re likely a Dark Autumn, and can rock darker and warmer versions of this palette.

Winter

If you’re a Winter, you likely have cooler features with a high contrast between hair, eyes, and skin tone. Ideal outfits for the Winter color palette are cool and bright - like the sun reflecting light off of snow. You likely have fair skin with dark hair and dark eyes. Even in Winters with darker skin tones, the whites of your eyes and teeth likely contrast your skin. Winters can rock bold colors, making true black and white clothing ideal. In addition, we recommend trying silver jewelry with bold colors: like ruby red, wine, navy blue, royal blue, magenta, bold yellow, or royal purple. To spice it up even more, we recommend trying rich jewel tones for a bolder look.

If you know you’re a Winter but aren’t completely sure it’s the right fit, you may actually fall into one of Winter’s subseasons. Our analysis focuses on the True Winter palette, which falls in between Dark Winter and Bright Winter. If your skin is more neutral or olive-toned, you will likely fit best into one of these subseasons. As for Winters, if your hair, eyes, and skin have a lower contrast than other Winters (meaning all of your features are really light, they’re all really dark, or they’re all similar in color), you’re likely a Dark Winter, and likely prefer to wear some of the lighter colors featured in this palette. If your features have a higher contrast, you’re likely a Bright Winter, and can rock bolder and brighter versions of this palette.
